Our History

In operation since 2005, Foundations Design started with a dream of creating superior homes for the residents of Atlanta. Personal experiences with previous builders, both positive and negative, left indelible marks on founders Peter Pasternack and Brian Trow and helped emphasize the company's philosophy of creating a superior product while delivering exceptional customer service. The personal friendship between Peter and Brian is built on trust and integrity, which in-turn is at the core of the business.

In the beginning, the company focused on minor renovations that made a large impact on the quality of homes they touched. Peter provided the conceptual and logistical framework for the company to prosper while Brian, with help from his father, personally transformed these houses in order to ensure that the quality and craftsmanship was up to the exacting standards of a Foundations Design home. From those humble origins, the company transitioned within its first year to complex, custom builds and whole house renovations which included everything from master suite additions to reorienting entire home layouts. Whether big or small, every change has been crafted to ensure the complete comfort of the homeowner while maintaining the same level of quality that was evident in our first home.

In order to achieve homeowner contentment, it all starts with the right mix of ability, experience, teamwork and timing. We hire skilled and seasoned craftsmen - people with expertise built on years of experience - and hard working and dedicated staff members. Our strategy is to continue building an expertise-driven organization. Add a corporate structure with incentives to foster motivation and build morale, then quality and excellence with outstanding customer service become possible on a consistent day-in, day-out basis. From there, dreams can truly become reality.

Through the entire process, everything Foundations Design does is driven by one person - you. Every design we envision, every nail we hammer, every home we create has the homeowner at the forefront of our minds.
